Sergey Morozov, General Director of SUE “Lenoblvodokanal”, Anne Lammila, Consul General of Finland in St.Petersburg and Vitaly Artyushchenko, Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) representative in Russia discussed the details of cooperation in improvement of the ecological condition of the Baltic Sea and, in particular, the Gulf of Finland at a working meeting. Careful attitude to the environment — one of the key goals of SUE “Lenoblvodokanal”. The enterprise uses modern water purification technologies and introduces energy-saving technologies.

To expedite the reconstruction of sewage treatment facilities and improve the quality of wastewater regional and federal funding is being involved. Cooperation continues with the Baltic countries, which are ready to invest in projects that improve the environmental condition of the Gulf of Finland.
The Nordic Environmental Finance Corporation (NEFCO) includes representatives from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and Norway.

SUE “Lenoblvodokanal”, in partnership with the Finnish side, is already implementing a project for the construction of water supply and water treatment facilities in the Monrepos Park and the Petrovsky micro district of Vyborg.
New international projects aimed at improving the environment, in which the NEFCO is ready to take financial part are ahead. SUE “Lenoblvodokanal” as a state enterprise has proved its reliability and ability to keep promises.
The first implemented project will be the reconstruction of the key sewerage facilities in Vyborg.

After the implementation of the first stages of the project, the discussion will focus on the construction and reconstruction of treatment facilities in Primorsk, Glebychevo and Roshchino, Vyborgsky District, Shlisselburg, Kirovsk and Otradny, Tosno.
The output of the projects will be a significant improvement in the quality of wastewater after treatment and in turn an improvement in the environment of the Baltic Sea.
